Workshop by An Coppens: Is your Design Inclusive?

Her workshop at #GWC16: “Is your Design Inclusive?”

We will look at gender and age diverse personas and how they interact with different systems. The workshop will explore how different personas react to gamification designs and applications. The workshop is built on research, which checks whether software is inclusive for both gender. We have worked on extending this to gamification design to include age in the persona profiles. Participants will receive a task journey based on each persona for gamified applications.

Participants will learn how this kind of user testing may reveal opportunities and potential weaknesses in their design. Participants can bring along their own design to put to the test, however it will then need to be voted on and shared by the table for it to make the shortlist of projects. The workshop will be interactive, share a process we use and recommend, before drawing some conclusions at the end.
